Bayou Seawitch Apothecary — What Makes an Oil "Planetarily Correct"
A Returning Favorite
Bayou Seawitch Apothecary is back at the Greater Wellness Holistics Expo this year — Rev. Sharon Ross has been both a vendor and a sponsor with us before, and we've already told her full story once. If you want her background, certifications, and how the business got started, our original spotlight on Bayou Seawitch Apothecary covers all of that.
This post is a companion to that one, not a repeat — we're zooming in on one specific thing that makes her oils different: what it actually means for an oil to be "planetarily and elementally correct."
What "Planetarily and Elementally Correct" Actually Means
Bayou Seawitch Apothecary describes its oils as "Planetarily and Elementally correct, to ensure the best outcome possible for anything you wish to accomplish." That phrase comes out of a long tradition in folk and rootwork practice, where ingredients aren't chosen for scent alone — they're chosen because of what they're believed to correspond to. A planet like Venus might be tied to love or beauty work, the Sun to strength or clarity, and each of the four classical elements (earth, air, fire, water) carries its own association, too. A "planetarily and elementally correct" oil is built with those correspondences in mind from the start, rather than assembled after the fact to smell a certain way.
You've Never Used a Correspondence Oil Before
For someone new to this kind of work, the easiest way to think about it is less like a candle scent and more like a recipe with intention behind every ingredient. Two oils can smell completely different and still be "for" the same purpose, because what matters is what went into them and why — not just how they smell on your wrist.
A Returning Vendor and Sponsor
This isn't Bayou Seawitch Apothecary's first time with us. Rev. Sharon has supported the Greater Wellness Holistics Expo before, both as a vendor and as a sponsor. That kind of repeat relationship says something on its own: this is a business that keeps showing up for this community, not just passing through once.
Where to Find Her
